I lived in Mulford Gardens just a few blocks away from Doug and his brothers. Back ikn the 5th and 6th grades we played in the streets and in the tidal areas.

Doug introduced me to the old Filmore Auditorium in our senior year (after that I never got enough of the place).

Doug and Mark Tunison (also in the neighborhood) were on the Vikings swim team, With their support, in my senior year, I decided to take; a chance with the team. I bet I was the only senior to be on the jr varisty team.

I had my struggles in school but I tell you my friendships with the Wilson boys meant a lot to me.

I was sorry to see that Ron passed on, He introducted me to the Rolling Stones by playing a 45 on a portable record player - the speaker was so bad I couldn't understand a thing ·· LOL·· but I got the jist of it!

Lots of love to you Don and Ron.

Don and I were on the yearbook staff at Pacific. He is the staff photographer and he could always be counted on to get his assignment done on time. Good guy and he will be missed.

Don grew up a block away from me in Mulford Gardens.  Don was the only person that shared each and every class year with me from kindergarten through 7th grade at James A. Garfield grammar school.  His mom was a den mother to our neighborhood Cub Scout pack for a time which gave me the chance to know his brothers as well.  Notably, their home sported a very large moose rack attached to the garage fascia.  That spoke to the love of hunting and outdoor recreation activities of the family.  Don, along with Terry Kerns and I, would later become firemen in Bay Area commuities.   Rest in peace my fellow childhood friend.

Don and I had parallel careers in Newark, advancing through the ranks at about the same pace. We often met at incidents that required both fire and police. He was professional and caring and I was always happy to collaborate with him on calls, and later on administrative projects. Don’s presence was always welcomed and he will be missed.

I knew Don at Pacific High and as a member of the swim team.  He was a good person to know.  I always enjoyed his company and I was happy to see him at our 50th Class Reunion in 2016.  My condolences to Peggy and their family.  I  am very sorry to hear of his passing.
