Jerry Almand

Don grew up a block away from me in Mulford Gardens.  Don was the only person that shared each and every class year with me from kindergarten through 7th grade at James A. Garfield grammar school.  His mom was a den mother to our neighborhood Cub Scout pack for a time which gave me the chance to know his brothers as well.  Notably, their home sported a very large moose rack attached to the garage fascia.  That spoke to the love of hunting and outdoor recreation activities of the family.  Don, along with Terry Kerns and I, would later become firemen in Bay Area commuities.   Rest in peace my fellow childhood friend.
