Married his hight school sweet heart Diane Denego whose family also lived in Bonaire  Diane passed away a couple of years ago. My condolences to his sisters and children.

I just about the passing of Fred Carris. I met Fred my first year at Pacific, we had a class together. Here I was,a newbie to High School and there was Fred, a full grown man, quiet and unassuming, I remember that first day, he was wearing his Lettermans sweater, 4 stripes on his arm, lettering in baseball, basketball, football and track. He threw the shot put and I think the discuss, his letter had star's, medals, all league embroidery. I was in awe. Well, I did survive that experience and through sports got to know Fred. After graduating did not see Fred for years but found out he married Diane, who I would see on occasion she was an educator, just like Fred. I could write more, about this amazing man, scholar athlete, incredible husband, and the greatest athlete who went to Pacific. He was a great man. Rest in Peace Fred. Danny Paiva, class of 66

I just read that Fred Carris passed away.  This is such sad news.  I knew Diane and Fred at James Madison, John Muir Middle School and Pacific High School.  They were both people that I respected.  Fred was an athelete of great stature and someone to be looked up to.  We shared several classes over the years and I know that there will be many Vikings who will remember him fondly.  Damn, this makes me sad.  My condolences to his and Diane's family.

I attended James Madison Elementary School and was in the sixth grade when I heard of the athletic prowess of a seventh grade student named Fred Carris. One day during a baseball game after school hours I got to witness his abilities when Fred hit a homerun so hard and far that he broke the baseball bat. Another great Viking has entered Valhalla.

Played a lot of screen ball with Ron Mayer and Fred at the baseball diamond at the James Madison Elementary School.  Both Ron and Fred were great athletes from Bon Aire and contributed to some great Viking teams during their years at Pacific High. Rest in peace you mighty Vikings!

Rick Burnett (1971)

I am very sad to report that Jim Snow died on Saturday 11/26/22. No cause of death was know but Jim had been in very poor health for awhile and in fact had been residing in an assisted living facility in Oakland when he passed. Jim was 69 years old.

Jim's family moved from Washington Manor to Bonaire when Jim was in 3rd or 4th grade. Jim went to James Madison, John Muir and graduated from Pacific in 1971. Jim and I were best friends almost from the day he moved to Bonaire, was a groomsman in my wedding and we continued to be close friends for years to come. I will miss him greatly.
