Sooo sorry to learn that Vince didn't make it! He and I had a conversation not long before he got sick. Glad we were able to connect. Sympathies to his wife.

These last few years has taken a few Pre -Tech boys. Vince's smile and laugh is in my memory., a good soul.

Beverly Boggs and I grew up about 4 to 5 house's away together. Grammer school all the way to high. I remenber standing in the our hose and hearing her practice violin from her home. Those first few years were trying with the ears, but soon enough the music started  , and I'm sure she's playing some great tunes now.

Peace

In response to Class Question # 19...Gail & I at his time will not be getting the Vacine as we feel the "Herd Immunity Method" is best for us....

In response  to question #19, Richard and I as well as 99% of our families will not be taking the shot.  After reading about all of the bad reactions as well as a close friend of ours who is having serious reactions to the shot.

For those of you who chose to get the shot, we wish you well and hope that you come out on the better side of this.

I received my first of the two-shot Moderna Vaccine and am scheduled for the second dose next month  No problems at all. This brand is rated at 96% effective. It was given at the high school gym in our city by firemen. They have everyone wait for fifteen minutes after the shot to make sure you do not have a problem.  All was well for everyone who received their shot that day while I was there and I have not heard of anyone in our small city having any bad reactions.

Darold Cornell (Cornell) (1966)

I had my first shot two weeks ago, and am scheduled for my 2nd shot March 3rd. I had no reaction to the first. For those of you who have decided against taking the shot, I respectfully disagree. This vaccine has been tested with well over 70,000 people. It has a 94% chance of success!  The rewards far outweigh the risks. Do not be fooled by media propaganda. I have read the research. The myths you read or hear are not all true. We are all close to or over age 70. We are the ones who need this the most. Even if you still get the virus, the shots will minimize the dangers, if any. I will not preach to you and tell you what to read and not to read. I simply feel you are making a terrible mistake in not getting the shots.

In response to question #19, my wife, Frances is out getting her 2nd shot as I write.  I will get mine on March 11th.  Testing and experience to date have shown that both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to be SAFE AND EFFECTIVE.  A word to Ralph Martin and others:  "Herd immunity " is only achieved by the disease culling (read 'killing') the herd of its old and infirm members which would involve a death toll vastly larger than we have already seen OR herd immunity can be achieved through vaccination.  Either way, HERD IMMUNITY DOES NOT PROTECT INDIVIDUALS PER SE.  HERD IMMUNITY PROTECTS POPULATIONS (the herd).  Individuals who are not vaccinated or otherwise immune (generally through having and surviving the disease) are still susceptible to catching the disease, getting ill and, potentially, dying.

Received my second Moderna vaccine on February 16th. I had no adverse reaction, only a little soreness in my arm. Played golf the next day with no problem. I had a 10:30 a.m. appointment at Kaiser, arrived at 10 a.m., and was on my way home by 10:31.

I received my 2nd vaccine on Friday. I had some discomfort on Saturday that lasted a few hours. I encourage everyone to get vaccinated as it is the only way to end the deadly pandemic

Regarding COVID vaccine,my wife and I have both received the first dose. Arm was sore for awhile. No other side effects. We got the Pfizer vaccine at Stanford Valley Care in Pleasanton. They were limiting them to patients within the last 3 years I believe. Appointments made through their website. No problems.

Diana Carlton (Smith) (1974)

To all of you who don't want to get the Covid vaccine..... good luck with that! Very little people get a reaction and if they do it's minimal. It's still 100% better than getting COVID for sure. It's a relief that I know I will be safe a few weeks after my second shot. Happy to have received the first dose last week!

And good luck to you who have received. Please don't judge people who chose not to take this expiremental shot.

I choose to support folks who don't get the the shot. I personally know about a dozen people who have gotten the virus and have gotten over it and are just fine. Some were over 70 and one was in her 90,s only one was hospitalized. Since the virus is mutating there are no guarantees you won't get it even if you have the vaccine. What's the point if you still have to wear a mask after you've had the shot. I quit believing the CDC and World Health Organization long ago. I have never gotten flu shots and have been fine. I did get a shingles shot and know folks who got that vaccine and still got shingles.I choose not to live in fear of what may happen. Does anyone remember standing in line at John Muir to get a sugar cube with a vaccine in it would have been in the 60,s. Maybe it was for polio.  We left San Leandro a couple of years ago for a much quieter and less crazy life in Colorado. I am not a Kaiser patient but my brother Chris class of 70 was and they pretty much killed him. The hospital was at max capacity then and the day the sent him home he died getting out of his car in the driveway. He wasn't ready to go home but they forced him out anyway.  That being said I know when it's my time to go I know where the final destination will be and I actually look forward to that day. Yes I most likely won't get the shot.

Thank God we still have a choice.

Donna Bohrer-Abbott (Mayfield) (1963)

OK, I realize we all have a choice.

My husband and I both got our first injection today at RiteAid.  I had the virus back in November and never want to got through that again.  My real concern is for my husband who has a number of medical issues.

Good luck to all of you and God bless.m

Thank you to those that remember that we still have freedom of choice.  As I said in an earlier post we have a very close friend that has serious side effects from the shot and is now in the hospital with kidney issues.  He is a young man, he is very active in sports and works very hard every day to support his family which includes a baby.

I pray daily for this planned-demic to end, and that we can all get back to our lives.  I left CA in 92 and never looked back.  I am quite happy living in the south where life is much simpler and a much slower pace.

Bless you Penny.I will pray for that young man and also look forward to normal days if that's ever going to be possible. We were all lucky to have lived in the Best of times.

Ms. Day, the vaccines are not experimental.  That phase was over before the CDC approved general use.  As to your right to a choice, you do have the right to choose to put yourself and others at risk and to make it harder to end this pandemic.  Unfortunately we allow people to make all kinds of anti-social choices.

My name is Mrs Camara. The technology has been around for 10 years but these injections have never been used on humans before. So you see we are the expirement.People have died and have suffered serious side effects from the shot.Big media does not report these facts because we don't want to scare the sheeple.

I bet people such as Vince Acosta, Paul Tobias and his sister Rebecca had wished that they had taken the vaccine...They all died of the Covid and that was just in the first 6 weeks of this year.

Peggy Wood (Guernsey) (1968)

I do remember getting the sugar cube Polio vaccine at John Muir with mom and dad.  My uncle had polio when I was just 6 mons old and he had played with me all dad with a fever that that night put him in an iron lung and docs telling my parents all they could do was "watch me" to see if I got it.  No idea if I have immunity, just my parents were SO grateful to get the vaccine even years later.  So to answer Randall comments, our USA history has been;  years to develope and test vaccines.  Maybe this is going to show they made a GREAT product and it turns out to last for yrs with maybe a booster.  I know my time and where I'm going so I am trusting the Lord for guidiance with the medical community as I think I need and question what I don't understand..   As for my Viking family Vincent death just ripped me apart, as did finding out about Drew's at my 50 yr reunion. I miss my Viking sisters lunches and laughter, and try to stay in touch with Mick Meyers, but not doing aswell as I should.  You all are important to me and memories posts.  You younger and older ones I do not know I love you posts of events, fun and current events.  I do feel close to you.  I pray you and your families are well and happy esp those in the sudden FREEZE OUT going on and now the thaw.  May God bless you all, Peggy

HI All,

A good post on the Polio Vaccine.

The original was rushed out and many (in the thousands) died.

Look it up.

Please don't judge (or cancel) us that have still choose to exercise our free will.

Steve
