Don't know why, but I am just now reading about the passing of Ron. I (we) always knew Ron as the gentle giant. Coach Gunnari always was trying to fire up Ron, given his size and strength, his potential to reek havoc on the football field was always there, but his gentle personality and kindness just didn't allow him to exert that size and strength against others to the extent he could have. Rest in peace Ron, there's a special place in heaven for people like you.
Like Jon, I just found out about his passing. He was indeed a "gentile giant." Quiet and soft spoken. True, if his personality was more on the agressive side, he would have been one of the biggest and talented football player of PHS. Coach Gunnari used to call him "Bowow." RIP.
