Happy Birthday Darla, WELCOME to another Great Year of Life. Enjoy!
I've lost touch with so many since High School. It has been nice as I have become friends with a number of people from the past with the present technology. I enjoyed pictures that Linda has passed along to all of us in recent times. She had that same smile that I remember from the first time I saw her at Grover Cleveland. I was sorry to hear when she posted that she was going into hospice care. I was already praying for a miricle at that point. I'm sure that I like others feel bad that she lost her battle with cancer. Cancer is taking so many lives, and I've have Family Members of my own that are battling it as well as some that have lost that battle. May Linda Rest in Peace, and I'll continue to Pray for her family as they try to understand threir loss.
The last time I saw Andy was when he came to my wedding in 1973. We hung around together often prior to that time. I guess I just lost touch. I did not find out about his death till I came back to San Leandro for my Dads funeral in 1988. I was driving around the old neighbor and saw his Mom walking into her house. I stopped and knocked on the door. She invited me in and we chatted about the whole family. I noted that she had not mentioned Andy. I said, how is Andy doing? She said you don’t know he died. I was surprised with the response. She told me the whole story. The last time I was with Andy I saw some things happening that were not good. He said he had things under control, but I guess they caught up to him. It was such a sad ending to a great life and a good friend that I would have done anything to help. I still think of him now and then. We were always having a great time when we got together. He is missed!
Happy Birthday Greg, Wishing you the Very Best
