The following note is from Rebecca Hedemark Norris who at the time of his death was married to Richard.. Thank you Rebecca for letting us know what happened to Richard.
"Richard was killed on Decemeber 3rd 1974. He was working for PG&E in Eureka Ca. He and a co-worker were out drinking. After leaving the bar a policeman tried to stop them but the co-worker tried to out run the police but then decided to stop in a park parking lot . Rich had a beer bottle between his legs and the officer thought it was a gun so as Rich was getting out of the car the officer had a sawed off shotgun in the small of his back. Rich slipped in the gravel and the gun went off." I hope this answers the questions posted.
