Beverly Boggs (Atkinson) - Class Of 1967

Born 4-12-1949 Died 6-6-1995

                             BEVERLY ANN (BOGGS) ATKINSON

Beverly who taught private violin lessons and worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for several companies died Tuesday, June 6, 1995 at San Leandro Hospital.  She was 46.

A native of Oakland, Mrs. Atkinson was a graduate of Pacific High School in San Leandro and of California State University, Hayward, where she received a degree in music performance.  She was active in many musical organizations and was a member of First Covenant Church in Oakland.

Mrs. Atkinson is survived by her husband, Ronald Atkinson of San Lorenzo; her daughter, Emily Atkinson of San Lorenzo; her sons, Brent Atkinson of San Lorenzo and Todd Atkinson of San Lorenzo; her parents Madeline and Alfred Boggs of San Leandro; her sister, Barbara Nixon of Eugene, Oregon, her brother, Wes Rolita of San Ramon.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992Mission Blvd., Hayward.  A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. today at First Covenant Church, 4000 Redwood Road, Oakland.  The family asks that contributions be sent to the church’s music program.

Sue Ferreira (Nunes) (1967)

BEVERLY BOGGS was a very talented senior. She was active as concert mistress of the Pacific High School Orchestra, concert mistress of "Young America" for three years, a member of the San Leandro Symphony Orchestra and a soloist with the San Francisco Symphony. She was also a member of Tri-M (Modern Music Masters) for three years and a singer in the school choir. She placed fifth in the 1967 Miss San Leandro Pageant and received the Bank of America Achievement Award for Fine Arts, and the "Most Vauable Student" award from the Elk's Club. She plans to attend San Jose State College, on a scholarship she received and major in music and minor in journalism. She hopes to become a pulic school music and journalism teacher.
