Carolyn Clayton Burger - Class Of 1970

Carolyn Clayton Burger

Carolyn passed away this morning September 28, 2023.

Ovarian cancer took her life way to soon.  Carolyn spent 20 years teaching at Lincoln Orchard Mesa . She loved her students and accepted all of her students unconditionally . One of her favorite sayings to her students was “ handshakes and hugs” . There wasn’t a stranger in her life she loved people and treated everyone she met like a good friend. The world was a better place with Carolyn in it.  Rest in Peace Carolyn

So sad to hear the news.  When you told me why you wouldn't make the reunion last year I started praying for your recovery, so our plan to meet up when you came to see your daughter would come to fruition.  You were a good friend growing up, and such a kind, caring person.  Condolences to your family, especially to Bruce.

Carolyn Clayton was such a nice person. To every one. She was exceptionally kind to me. I was a not a happy kid. But Carolyn included me in many of her activities. She always had a positive word to say. I knew her from Pacific High and from Jobs Daughters. She went up the line to become an Honored Queen. She looked so regal in her Crown and Purple Cape. She seemed to never not be smiling. She was kind, gracious and forever a Good Person. I agree = the world we all knew was much better with Carolyn Clayton in it. She called me a few times over the years to try to encourage me to attend the reunions. Always so thoughtful of others. I am sorry her family has lost this precious Lady. We are all going to miss her. If you knew Carolyn.....you were lucky. She was also very good to her Mother as her Mother neared her end. Maybe She is up there......singing Onward Christian Soldiers....at the close of Bethel.

Thank you so much to all of you for your gracious comments. MY SIS was sincerely one of the most important people in my life!  I am really trying here as it is very challenging as I could write a book about how lovely, caring, giving, thoughtful and wonderful she was. There aren't enough words to express the LOVE we all had and shared together. She and my unbelieveable terrific mother Ruby are now together with God & the rest of our family and many friends.  Thanks again for all your comments and kindness its much appreciated! I LOVE ❤️ MY SIS & some of you may remember my awesome big brother Bruce!  ❤️

Carolyn was a dear friend of mine in the early 70's. I met her at the First Presbyterian church in San Leandro. .

If my memory is correct I went to her wedding in the early 70's. That's the last time I ever heard from her.

I'm saddened to hear of her passing. I will always love and miss her. She was a wonderful woman.
