Carole Bain Pisio (Pisio) (1962)

I had a lot of different schools which gave me the opportunity to meet & retain friends for a life time. No kindergargen in our area so started at Websters Corner elementary for 1-5. Then to Rosser Ave. school for the rest of 5 & 6. Went to Alpha Jr. High for 7 & 8. With the school having a fire so had to do part of 7 at Capital Hill. All were in B.C. . Then moved to California & attended Hayward High for 3 months and finished 9th grade at John Muir. 10th grade at San Leandro High and 11 and 12 at Pacific. For me going to Pacific was great because I wasn't the only person "new" to the school. We all were.

I went to Halcyon for Kindergarten and 1st grade then John F. Kennedy opened up in Marina Faire so I went there for 2nd and 3rd grades.  Back to Halcyon for 4th through 7th, then on to John Muir for 8th and 9th.  Finally Pacific for 10th to 12th - saved the best for last (to put it mildly).

I was looking over the answers to question 10 and saw all different elementery schools except the BEST

JAMES MADISON in Bonaire!!!! YEAH  I went there after my mom change after school "daycare" with a neighbor.  So I will admit I started out at Tolar(?) Heights in Oakland.  My dad used to take me to Day Care on Foothill, by me riding on the tank of his Highway Patrol Motorcycle (a Harley ). Then I went to James Madison, John Muir and then the GREATEST SCHOOL, PACIFIC HIGH SCHOOL for all 3 years proudly graduating in June of 1968.

I attended Poplar Halls Elementary in Norfolk, Virginia; Lake Mary Elementary in Lake Mary, Florida; Oak Hill Elementary, Jacksonville Heights Elementary, and Jefferson Davis Junior High in Jacksonville, Florida; Memorial Junior High and H.M. King High in Kingsville, Texas; and, of course, Pacific.  My early career of vice, dissipation, laziness, and crime got me kicked out of so many schools.  KIDDING!  My family was Navy.  It's a shame that PHS is the only one of my schools that no longer exists in any form.

I attended Garfield Elementary, then John Muir, then Pacific. I had a really mean kindergarten teacher, but it was smooth sailing after that.

Hey Tom, Mr Lawson lived behind me.

Hi Charlie,

This a ghost from your pass...

Looks like we both took the same path.  At least educationally.

Still love you.

Started off in New Jersey saint Joseph's K thru 3rd  then went to a navy school in Maryland yeah that was fun then a couple more navy schools as I was going through life being drug along to each base. Then finally wound up in Alameda porter Jr high one year then John Muir one year. Finally settled down in San Leandro and got to go to the best school in the whole Bay Area. So let's hear it for the best school. Now just a memory but the best one that I won't forget PACIFIC HIGH SCHOOL.

Pamela Goodhart (Epstein) (1978)

Hey there, to those of you looking for James Roth, although I was only 8 when you all were seniors, I remember James as well, he lived at the end of our block on Hemlock. So, I Googled James Roth in San Leandro and several results came up. Unfortunately, I don't know if any of them are him. So, for those of you who know a bit more about him, if you have not yet done so, you might give Google a try to see if you can find him amongst the many listed! Best wishes!

Wow, reading a lot of these posts and finding out how many Navy Brats(Dependents) went to Pacific. First Grade for me was in Iwakuni Japan 1955 & '56. We were near Hiroshima. We went a couple of times for school Field Trips and saw the devastation. It was only 10 years after the bomb. Seeing something like that made you pray that it would never happen in our lifetime!

Next off to Astoria, OR. Here I was in 2nd Grade. Years later they filmed the movie Kindergarden Cop at this school.

3rd Grade was in Chula Vista, CA to Mission Beach, CA, and ended up at Pearl Harbor Kai Elementery, near the Main Gate at Pearl Harbor. Did 3rd & 4th Grade there. 5th to part of 8th Grade was at Holy Family Catholic School, which was by Hickam Air Force Base on Oahu. Then finished off the last 2 months at St. Barnabas in Alameda. I did my Freshman year at St. Joseph's in Alameda. Then when my Dad retired from the Navy, my parents purchased their home in Marina Faire, where I attended Pacific.

JAMES ROTH... Does anyone have any other information on James????  Whats his middle name, Mom or Dads name, any sisters or brothers etc  ????

Randall Johnese (1968)

In response to question #10, I attended kindergarten at Woodrow Wilson Elementary (Daly City).  Then attended 1st grade and began 2nd at John Muir Elementary (Hayward).  Then my parents bought the house on Timothy Drive in San Leandro.  So, I finished elementary school at Woodrow Wilson and went on to John Muir Junior High.  I did almost 3 years at Pacific Pacific High with a 6/7 week hiatus due to a difference of opinion between me and Ray Barker ...
