Joyce Medeiros

I became a professional singer when I was 23. I started out in a "Funk" Band doing R&B, Motown and a whole lot of Aretha Franklin. The band went on the road and traveled for about 4 years. We where mostly on the West coast up in Seattle, Portland, Canada and Las Vegas. I then returned to the Bayarea and worked with two other bands. The Last one got alot of gigs at the major Hotels in San Francisco. Changed the music style and did, standards, lite jazz, big band, show tunes and some R&B. I was very lucky to do what I loved best. The music came to an end in the early 1990's and I have dabbled in it doing casuals, concerts and such. I have been working day jobs for about 20 years and now work at Cal State in Hayward, Student Services for two Masters programs. Still sing when I can.

I have so many memories of Pacific - I hardly know where to start. I was in alot of musicals thanks to Mr. Bond who mentored me and I am so grateful. I had a wonderful group of friends who I still stay in touch with. It was a great time in my life.
