Gordy was a good teacher and a good person. He was the informal social director for the faculty & staff — arranging for dozens of parties, some even after his retirement. He and his wife always provided the entertainment. It was fun working with him and he was primarily responsible for the cohesiveness of the staff. He was also the proud founder of the Pacific High Association of Retired Teachers (Old PHARTS) who met periodically for breakfast at Denny's on Marina Blvd.
