I remember seeing part of the service for Mr. Michael Hicks, where this part of the service was outside in front of a home on Estudillo Avenue in San Leandro. I remember seeing his younger brother, Patrick, standing out there on the sidewalk. My time at John Muir Jr. High School and at Pacific High School were, for the most part, happy days. The only thing I have to say, is that memories of adverse events such as the above departure, is part of the fabric of what defines me as a person from San Leandro. We are defined by the sum of the good things and the not-so-good things. That's all.
