A long time resident of San Leandro, Mark Symmons, died unexpectedly at his home on November 5, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Delores Symmons and his two brothers: Professor Richard Symmons, living in Half Moon Bay, California and Delbert Symmons, living in Cleveland, and many, many cousins. Mark was born in Oakland to Richard Warren and Mildred “June” Symmons, and lived for most of his youth in Martinez, California. He attended Pacific High School in San Leandro, California and graduated in 1966. He entered the Army and served two years, from 1966 until 1968. No funeral services are planned and his remains were cremated, as he had wished, and will be spread at sea to join those of his father and mother. Mark’s congeniality, generosity and sense of humor will be missed by his many friends and his family.
