Rudy passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, November 10 surrounded by his loved ones. Born to Rudy and Helen Waschau in Oakland, Ca. Rudy attended Pacific High in San Leandro (Class of 1965) where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Dolores Waschau the love of his life and best friend. They began their married life in San Leandro, CA and later moved to Fremont, Ca where they raised their family and lived for 31 years. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents Rudy and Helen Waschau. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dolores Waschau. Loving father of Rick Waschau and Rebecca Schnitt. Father in Law of Theresa Waschau and Barry Schnitt. Proud Grandfather of Cole Schnitt, Brooke Waschau, Brandi Waschau and Avery Schnitt. He is survived by his loving sister, Olivia Garcia, and Brother in Law Steven Garcia. Survived by Mother in Law Teresa YaYa Wilkins, Sisters in Law, Jeri Wilkins and Kendra Wilkins and niece Kyrie Fry. Nieces, Jody Day and Jamie LaGrave. Survived by many great nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins and too many friends to include.
Rudy retired to Carson City, NV with his wife in 2002. He was a proud member in good standing of 47 years of UA of Sprinkler Fitters and Apprentices Local 483. He was a loyal Indianapolis Colt's Fan. He found joy in the simple things in life, coaching Little League Baseball and CYO Basketball. Watching sports, fishing, riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with his family. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the American Heart Association in his name or to your favorite charity .
