James and I were friends during high school and we worked togrther for 10 years later on.Jim was a party on feet. We had so many good times together its hard to count them. We just talked recently and he sounded optimistic . He wanted a classic car so we made plans to look into what he wanted. He was a great compeditor in all things. Always ready for the next challange. He is at the next leval. Jim you will be missed. His ashes will be spread in the Pacific Ocean from Newport Beach.

I didn't know Jim personnaly, I graduated two years after him .  I too am battling copd and other breathing complications due too what they say, agent orange and fumes from jet fighters during my tour in the Air Force. Please accept my deepest sympathy too his entire family and all his friends.I'm sure it was extremely hard watching him struggle . May he forever rest in peace. A classmate of 1966.

So sorry we lost Jim. He was, as others have described, a unique guy. I remember a weekend abalone diving trip up the coast in the early 70's with several characters from Pacific High and beyond. When I married mywife here in Manhattan in 1985 we shared our history: in the early 70's she worked as a secretary at Californis Linen Supply in Oakland. "No kidding! I have a friend who worked there during that period—Jim Brown." Turns out that she had a mad crush on Jim, a driver at the time! In fact, Jim gave her a 'cigarette holder' for Christmas of 1972. All who knew Jim are better people for the experience.

I kind of remember the trip in question. Salt point. 2 yellow Fiat convertables. I believe I was the one who dove for the abalone.Havent done it in years. I still scuba dive. We all had a blast and no trouble. What a great memory. Jim kept us laughing till we split. You were a crack up as well. Thanks for brining up a great memory
