JIM WAS ONE OF THE GUYS WHO HUNG OUT WITH OUR GROUP. SOME CALLED HIM "GENTLEMAN JIM" BECAUSE HE WAS ALWAYS SO POLITE TO OTHERS. THE GROUP CALLED HIM "SNAKE". I GUESS BECAUSE OF HIS HEIGHT AND THINNESS. HE WAS A FUN GUY TO BE AROUND AND HE WILL BE MISSED. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND.

SO sorry to hear of Jim's passing.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his wonderful family.  I have great memories of Jim, too.  He really was a gentleman.  He loved to golf when we were in high school, and my Dad gave Jim his first set of clubs and bag.  I remember how happy he was.  Another good man, gone too soon.  Love to all.  Moe.

I’m extremely sad to learn of Jim’s passing. I’m fortunate I got to spend time with him 2012 at 60’s reunion. I found Jim to be the same person I knew back in high school a real great guy.

I was shocked to see Jim added to the In Memory list.  I saw Jim a couple of times in the1970's and not again until the big reunion.  At our table, the lady sitting next to me asked if I knew her brother.  I said who is your brother and she said Jim Truex.  I said yes and I am looking for him.  I talked with Jim that night and again at the picnic.  I saw him again the next year at the picnic.  It was as if no time had passed.  He was the same nice guy I knew in school.  Rest in peace, my friend.

I posted a picture of Jim that I took at our graduation from John Muir on What's New.

Jim and I had been friends for almost 60 years. He attended the luncheons that the Old Farts have more than a half dozen times. He was always a man with a smile on his face and an easy going fellow. His death has diminished all that knew him. I have scoured all the local mortuary sites and on line papers for information about services that will be held for him and have found nothing. If any one has any information on his services please post them on this site. I will check every day for the next several weeks and be very appreciative for the information. Rest in peace Jim.

Sad to see a good guy go.  Jim was one of the nicest and most polite men I ever met.  Hooked up again in 2015 while at Costco and spent an evening with Jim talking about how San Leandro was and how it had changed.

I am truly sorry to hear he has passed.
