I MEET DONNIE BACK AROUND 1958 AND WE HAVE REMAINED FRIENDS OVER ALL THE YEARS. I REMEMBER IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THAT HE WAS ALWAYS A GOOD HEAD TALLER THAN ME. HE WAS A GENTLE GIANT. THAT IS UNTIL WE PLAYED FOOTBALL ON THE SCHOOL LAWN ON SATURDAYS. I REMEMBER HE WAS REALLY HARD TO BRING DOWN AND IT USUALLY TOOK 2-3 OF US TO GET THE JOB DONE. DONNIE LOVED FOOTBALL AND HE LOVED PEOPLE. I WILL MISS HIM AS I'M SURE ANY WHO KNEW HIM WILL. R.I.P. MY FRIEND.

I met Don at Grover Cleveland. Even though we did not see each other for many years, when  I joined this great website, he was the first person to send me a hello and wish me well. When I saw the picture of him with Mr Madden I had to tell him Mr Madden was my favorite Coach. My condolonces to his family.REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND
