Deborah Kay Kenkel Morgan passed on Tuesday June 5, 2012 at the young age of 53 in Castro Valley, Ca. She was proud to be a Native American Indian, a member of the CSKT "Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribes" of the Flathead Reservation. She was born in Alameda, Ca on November 8, 1958. She lived in San Leandro, Ca her entire life. She is a 1977 graduate of Pacific High School in San Leandro. She enjoyed working for Delta Dental Ins. for 35 years in San Francisco She was a member of the Teamters union. In her free time she enjoyed cooking her famous mashed potatoes, macaroni salad or enchiladas to name a few dishes that her family loved for holidays or just get togethers. During the summer months and holidays she joined her family at their summer house in Clearlake. She liked to attend the country concerts at Konocti Harbor on Clearlake and to be around her family. She enjoyed fishing and boating on the lake. She also liked bowling and was on a team at Washington Manor Bowl in San Leandro. An animal lover at heart she had many pets such as dogs, rabbits, goats, ducks, chickens, pigeons and some reptiles. An occasional visit from skunks, racoons and opossum would happen from time to time. She is survived by her husband Mike Morgan who was also her High School sweetheart. They attended school together from kindergarten through High School Graduation. She has 2 sons, Michael Morgan Jr. of Livermore and Jeremy Morgan of San Leandro. She has 2 brothers and 2 sisters which include Mike Kenkel (Maryann) of Elk Grove, Ed Kenkel of San Leandro, Barbara Etherton (Ray) of San Leandro and Theresa Huse (Don) of Patterson and many nieces and nephews. She was a supporter of American Cancer Society, Relay For Lifein San Leandro. Debbie was preceded in death by her father Jerald Kenkel and mother Viola "Barbara" Kenkel, a brother Anthony Kenkel and a sister Cynthia Kenkel all of San Leandro. Visitation will be Saturday June 16, 2012 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Funeral service will be at 12:00pm at Holy Angels Funeral Center, 1051 Harder Road, Hayward with burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A reception will be held after the graveside service. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
