Lee was a good guy, and my true friend dating back to John Muir Junior High.  He was a sailor, and used to take me out in his tiny sailboat that he would tow to the San Leandro Marina on a trailer attached to his bicycle.  Lee was a very steady, calm presence during our tumultuous adolescence.  I very sorry to hear that he has died before the rest of us.

I had no idea Alvin died. I heard he only had 20% of the typical heart function so I hauled was out to Colorado to see him. It must have been only a month or two before he died. I'm glad I got to see him.

We grew up across the street from one another and I can't remember NOT knowing him.

As an aside, he was living in Colorado in the town of Parker with his wife Joyce and I think  one of his two kids, both daughters, Leah and I can't remember the other ones name. The

Alvin Lee Stein, We met in Kindergarden at James A. Garfeild, he was my freind since then until his passing.

I went out to see him a few months before his passing, I was joined by Phil Bailey to celebrate our long and continued friendship.

He will always be in my heart as a true friend.

Joyce his wife, Amber his daughter and Leah his second daughter also will always be my friends.

We made some good trouble during our years of youth.
