A celebration of life for Linda R. Sampaio, 63, of Coos Bay will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28 at Connections Community Church, 3491 Broadway Ave. in North Bend with pastor Todd Inman, officiating.  Private cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.

Linda was born April 26, 1954 to Edward Jesse Perez and Shirley Ann Perez-Little in Albany, Calif.  She passed away peacefully in the arms of the Lord on Sept. 26, 2017 at Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, with her husband beside her.

Linda attended Pacific High School in San Leandro, Calif. and enrolled in cosmetology school before graduating.  Shortly after graduating high school, Linda obtained her cosmetology license and started her career.  Linda owned and operated a successful business “Linda’s Hair Place” from 1992 to 2016, when she happily retired.

Linda met her husband, Steve, in 1970.  The two had an unbreakable bond in a marriage that lasted over 43 years.  Linda and Steve lived in the states of California, Idaho and Oregon where Linda touched the lives of many.

Linda was an amazing mother, grandmother and wife.  She was a living example of love.  She was encouraging.  She loved and served the Lord with all of her heart.  She had a genuine love for all she knew.  Linda found passion in children’s ministry.  She was a member of C.E.F.,where she served on the board, a counselor at Camp Fircroft, as well as a Good News teacher.  She was devoted to serving the Lord and did so in many capacities.  For Linda, it was Jesus, others and then herself.  She would always put others first.  Even during her own battle, Linda always found time for anyone who had a need for love and prayer.  She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her father, Edward Perez; husband, Steve Sampaio; sister, Shirley Perez-Gierak; sisters-in-law, Hilda Gomes and Mary Hackney; brothers-in-law, Frank Sampaio, Joseph Gomes, David Hackney and Rich Gierak; daughter, Christina Sampaio; son, Steve Sampaio Jr.; daughter-in-law, Melody Sampaio and grandchildren, Sierra, Shaianne, Serina, Hunter, Logan and Brooklyn.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Ann Little Perez and sisters, Juanita Roseanna Carpentier, Karen Josephine Cisneros and Annette Perez.

I'm so sorry to hear of Linda's passing, she always seemed so happy and would giggle...that's what I remember about her. In school we use to have alot of fun times when we'd hang together. Didn't know she lived here in my state of Oregon and fairly close to me too, would have liked to have visited her on one of my trips to the coast. My condolences go to her family. Rest in peace Linda....until we met again fellow Viking.
