Danny AKA "Veg" was one heck of a friend for over 30 years and a charter member of the Banana Brothers. Kind, considerate, smart, benevolent and many other adjectives can be used to describe him, but it still boils down to he was a good person. Danny was one of the only people who wrote to me from back home when I was in the service and that meant a lot.
Ironically we were always going to ride our motorcycles together so in about 1972 he purchased an old Knucklehead Harley that had been chopped in the sixties at some time. We rode together all right, about 3 blocks before he blew out the rear cylinder. So Danny spent the next 20 or so years gathering parts so he could build the ultimate chopper. Needless to say that never happened, but at least I can say we rode together.
