My heart goes out to the Woudstra family. Dennis was a very nice shy guy with a lovely smile...I am so sad to hear the news. May his memories help you through your grief.

I'd hoped to visit Dennis when I returned to the States after many years abroad.  Now I must be content with memories of his laughter, creativity, and friendship.  Thank you, Dennis.

I fondly remember Dennis from Garfield Elementary.  We used to play Top Cat together.  He was the cool Chooch and would wear a white turtleneck.  I, of course was TC.  Rest in peace, dearie.

Dennis was a character, but sweet at the same time.  I remember our group trips to Pescadero beach.  The first time I rode with Dennis, the hood of his started shaking on the San Mateo bridge.  He said not to worry - it always shook whenever he was traveling over 80 MPH.  I am almost embarrassed to admit it, but our first trip to the beach - we left really early so we could all watch the "sunrise". THINK ABOUT IT!   We swore eveyone to secrecy not to talk about the purpose of our early morning excursion. I wonder if I am the first to "break the silence".  Rest in peace Dennis - my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Dennis was my buddy. He and his girlfriend double dated with us during high school and we all spent so many warm nights at the marina or someone's loft or out to Kopie's for pizza, always olive, even a midnight trip to Half Moon Bay. He walked the beach with me the day my grandmother died in '71 and said just the right words.  We were very comfortable friends. About 20 months before he passed he called me on the phone, and after several decades of living our lives in two different states,  we picked up right where we left off.  He was so proud of his daughters, his son's football success, and Barb. I miss my friend.
