First of all, the last name should be spelled Hofsommer. Bill died Dec. 23, 1984 from cancer. My brother and I grew up with the Hofsommers, and I dated Bill the three years preceeding his death. I was with him and his family throughout his cancer ordeal and also when he died. My best memories of Pacific High School were not when I was a senior, but when I was a sophomore in 1977. Bill, or "Butch" as he was known, was a senior. That was by far the best school year of my life. Those of you that were in Jazz band that year know what I am talking about... for me, it was all because of my dear friend Bill.
He will be forever missed, but always in my heart-"Eternal Friends" as he wrote in my 1977 yearbook.
Hey Bibs! Well, just finished 32 years of teaching and once again, you aren't answering your phone so I can give you our annual "last day of school" hiphiphorray! You've been gone for over 25 years and I still can't believe you're not here with us. Save my place up there...have a hoot with dad...and keep sending those signals. Remember, no fat chicks....
