Lorene Micheli (Lee) - Class Of 1970 VIEW PROFILE

Lorene Micheli (Lee)

I received the following message from Laurie Jordan Carlson

Lorene Micheli (Lee) Passed away two weeks before Thanksgiving, she had cancer that had spread even though she had two bouts of chemo. Her passing was quick and painless. I spoke to her two days before and she felt fine, Godspeed Lorene♥

Lorene and I grew up together since the 4th grade but lost contact in later years.  My children called her Auntie Lorene and had the most fun with her. I am sad to hear of her passing.  Rest In Peace Rene.

Lorene was one of one of the group I hung around with. Remember her being so nice and just a lovely person. Fun! Glad Lorie kept in touch with her and I know Lindy and her were great friends. The Bon Aire girls, even though I live over on Pacific Ave. Maryette(Sam), Linda, Robin, Lori, Lindy, Lorene, Avis just to name a few of us that would gather at school. Condolenscences to her family and friends. Another Viking to Vahalla.

Lorene and I began our life long friendship in 7th grade.  We spent lots of time together throughout high school and after.  We had so many great camping trips to Pinecrest.  She is my son’s Godmother and I’m so grateful they got to see each other a few weeks before she passed.  We didn’t see each other a lot over the years but we always kept in contact.  She called me when she got the diagnosis and I was so struck by her positivity and determination.  She was a fighter.  I visited her three times in her final days and I will keep those memories close forever.  We laughed, cried, reminisced about all we’d shared and experienced together.   Two days before she passed was my last visit and I was so glad to have her present and see her beautiful smile when I walked in - she said “Hi Cinny” (her name for me forever) and I said “Hi Auntie”( my name for her started by my son).  It was a good visit - she was peaceful, pain free and beautiful. I will always remember her as considerate, caring, fun and my friend with the most infectious laugh.

Godspeed Auntie.  I love you.
