In Memory

Connie Maddix - Class Of 1969

Connie Maddix

My name is Kevin Cembura and I am the son of Connie Cembura. I am sad to share that my mother passed away on Saturday, January 7. I went through her address book and spoke with a few people from her High School whom she maintained contact with and it was suggested that I reach out to this Alumni website to have a notice posted on this page. If any of her classmates would like to attend her memorial services they will be held on Saturday, January 21 at Higgins Chapel in Antioch. If anyone has any questions I am can be contacted at (510) 375-4116 Thank you so much for your time and help in communicating the news of my mother's passing. -Kevin

I am sorry to hear about Connie.  She was a very nice lady!  I really did not have a lot of contact with Connie but she was a sweet person and she will be missed.

Kevin,

Sorry to hear about your Mother's passing. I attended Woodrow Wilson thru Pacific High with your Mom.

Although we were not close friends, I considered her my friend. You would not be able to find anyone

who would having anything but positive things about your Mom. Sorry I cannot attend her funeral this

Saturday, because of another Memorial I have committed to for another friend that afternoon. But my

thoughts will be with you, your family, and other Pacific High Grads who remember Connie fondly.

Take care,

Scott Camp

Sorry to hear of her passing. I too went to school with your mom from Woodrow Wilson through high school. She was always a good person and kind. I can't remember her ever being unkind to anyone. I won't be able to attend the memorial as I live in Washington now, but know that I will be thinking of her and your family and praying that you will be comforted at this time.

I'm saddened to hear of Connie's passing.  I will always remember her as awesomely smart and kind, gracious, gentle and sweet.  My condolences to her family and friends, who I know will miss her deeply.

I enjoyed the company of Connie Maddix during my time at John Muir Junior High and at Pacific High School. For various reasons, I felt that her intellect was superior and out of the ordinary.  Her presentations in drama class were unusually convincing to me. Connie had a nice sense of humor.  These are compliments.  On one occasion, I met Connie's mother in a residential neighborhood near John Muir Junior High.  At a later time, in the early 1970s, I ran into Connie again and this was in downtown Berkeley.  She introduced me to her male acquaintance friend who, as I recall, had long hair and was very handsome.  That is all I can recollect right now.  There are too many roses accumulating for the Class of 1969, but I do understand that these roses are for consoling the families.  Best regards, Tom Brody

Also sorry Kevin to hear of your Mother's passing.   I too went to school with Connie from

Kindergarten through Pacific High School......Never a bad word could be said about Connie.

She was always gracious and kind.  I remember she loved, loved to have her inner arm tickled

(something that would drive me crazy)....so in class Debbie Penland would lightly tickle her inside

of her forearm for HOURS.   Funny what you remember.   Fond memories.

I'm so sorry for your loss Kevin. I went to school with your mom from elementary school through high school. Unfortunately, I lost contact with high school friends after we graduated. Prayers for your family during this difficult time. Kathy Suchman McKenzie. Class of 1969.
