Arnaldo Alves De Almeida

Tribute

Arnaldo “Arnie” Alves De Almeida, 66, of Danville, died peacefully surrounded by his children on June 11, 2022 in Walnut Creek.

He was born on August 4,1955, to Alberto and Aida De Almeida in Hong Kong. Arnie and his parents immigrated to the United States in 1956 and settled in Alameda, CA. The family moved to the Marina Faire neighborhood of San Leandro in 1964 where Arnie formed lifelong friendships with many of the neighborhood kids. He graduated from Pacific High School in 1973 and then went on to graduate from U.C. Berkeley in 1977, majoring in Political Science.

Arnie spent most of his career as a salesman, but his most cherished job was being a Dad.

Anyone who knew Arnie, knew him to be the most kind and genuine person. Arnie had an immense passion for his family and was always a source of positivity. He also was an avid Bay Area sports fan and loved watching the Giants, 49ers, Warriors and Cal Bears games with his family.

Arnie is survived by his mother, Aida of Danville; daughter, Alyssa and son-in-law Andrew Pabon of New York, NY; daughter, Julia of Santa Ana; son, Alex of Danville; and their mother Margaret De Almeida of Walnut Creek. He was also the beloved brother of Alberto and Terra De Almeida, Ana Maria & Steven Schnier, and Ava & Arthur Law; and uncle to eleven loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alberto.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, June 24, 10:30am at St. Isidore’s Church, 440 La Gonda Way in Danville, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Arnie’s name to the Junior Giants organization (jrgiants.org).
