Charlie Spidle (1973)

Wild Bill as he was know around San Leandro for many years,  was my best friend since 1985.

We met in the US Army Reserves.  We were assigned to the 91st  Maneuver

Traing Command, based out of Camp Parks Dublin. When I met him I was a personnel

specialist for the unit.  I asked him where he went to school,,and he said "Pacific High", in San Leandro.

That was the beginning of  a life long friendship

Anyone who knew Bill loved his humor and big giving heart.  He is survived by his Daughter Rebecca, son William,  Brother Steve along with several nieces and nephews and his favorte gradson..

He was my friend and comrade in arms...Will always love and miss him. Rest in

peace my friend..Charlie

On Wednesday 11 Feb 14 you will have passed on for 6 years now. It was no surprise that you seen flags in your eyes and quit High School for your Senior Year to Join the Army. You wanted be Regular Army and not some Draftee. You were affraid the War in Vietnam would pass you by. Who would have guessed the Agent Orange they dumped on you would cause you to pass on at an early age. It would be nice to hear from Bill's classmates that remember him.

I didn't personnaly know Steve, but as an ex vet of Viet Nam, I salute him for doing himself and his country proud. I too have been afflicted with breathing ailments due too agent orange. I'm currently on 100% oxygen due to being in contact with agent orange and exhaust fumes from F4 Fighters in South East Asia. This has been a silent killer. I urge all my comrads to seek medical assistance if you feel you've been subjected too these lethal substances. My heart goes out too you for losing a close friend. May he forever rest in peace . Larry.
