During P.E. football games, I would throw the ball as far as possible to my teammate, Ray, who would somehow track it down and make incredible catches, many times diving full out on the dirt or grass. We developed a close relationship during these brief encounters during P.E. and rarely spoke to each other outside P.E. My memory of Ray, although limited, is filled with thoughts of his intense drive for perfection and the shared feeling of triumph and success every time we had a completion. May he continue successfully catching the ball. RIP.
